Established in 1950, Gardinia is a home decor company based in Isny, Germany. Over the years, the company expanded its product range from the pure manufacture of classic curtain rails to the production and sale of window-related products: roller blinds, panel curtains, blinds & other sun protection systems. Mainly focusing on e-commerce and B2C channels, SunPro24 sub-brand was created and we got to re-design the user experience of their first website attempt.
Although not luxury or designer products, the items available in the online shop can lead to strong home and office room transformation in the right hands of interior designers and architects.
While we started working on the websites’ structure and user flows, we also considered how the brand will communicate on social media, what the overall feel will be and how to accommodate that on the website.
In order to attract the consumers we need to inspire them and show how they can transform their lives by transforming their homes. One detail at the time.
As a solution, we developed a light driven overall esthetics, often juxtaposing various situations and placing the window as a central element. We also looked at the windows’ role from both sides: from outside, as a design element and from inside as an active asset that changes the environment through the natural lightning.
In addition to our inspiration driven design, we also developed a tool to bring some light among rather scattered/(insert fun-geeky word) range of items belonging to specific types of curtain system.
In the previous website, the size adjustments of some type of products was a bit counterintuitive. The user had to add to cart the “Size adjustment” as a product but nowhere to specify the new dimensions. This led to a daunting number of phone calls or emails from customers that our client had to respond in order to fulfill those kind of situations.
Our solution: an instinctive way to operate the measurement adjustments where possible and needed by the e-shopper, directly on the product page. Nothing complex here, only more practical. Then clearly showing the info in the shopping cart.
