Established in 1950, Gardinia is a home decor company based in Isny, Germany. Over the years, the company expanded its product range from the pure manufacture of classic curtain rails to the production and sale of window-related products: roller blinds, panel curtains, blinds & other sun protection systems.

Mainly focusing on e-commerce and B2C channels, the SunPro24 sub-brand was created and our job was to re-design the user experience of their first website attempt. The items available in the online shop, although simple in their nature, can lead to both room & mood significant transformation. So we mainly focused on a natural light driven esthetic.

To reach the hearts of their audience, we need to inspire them and show how they can make a differance in their home environment by addressing their windows. One detail at a time. As a solution, we developed a light-driven overall esthetics, often juxtaposing various situations and placing the window as a central element. We also looked at the windows’ role from both sides: from outside, as a design element and from inside as an active asset that changes the environment through the natural lightning.

Once we finished the structure and user flows, before diving into the UI, we planned the social media strategy so we can synchronize the website to their various media channels.

In addition to our light-driven design, we also developed a tool to bring some light among a rather awry range of items belonging to specific types of curtain systems.

The solution: after choosing the curtain system in the customizable area, the user could browse and select among the elements and items in order to create an entire curtain system from the same style range. The final selection is clearly displayed in the shopping cart.

SEO is a big deal for ecommerce as it can really make your online store pop up in the search results. So we started writing a few blog entries so we could include them right at the start.

Now the numbers:

By the time the client reached us for help, media budgets were drained with little or no conversions. After launching the new website, sales increased 200-300% in two months and continue to grow.

This is the result from a mix of:  better shopping experience & use of content, and a carefully crafted digital strategy.

Conclusion

Happy client, reduced volumes of work, and clear results in terms of sales
